Performance Opportunities

Balletschool provides several performance opportunities to its students. Each year, an annual spring recital is held. The entire school is invited to perform in a ballet or choreographed short story designed for their class. In the past, the lower division students have performed a ballet rendition of 'Angelina Ballerina' and 'The Shoemaker's Elves'. Middle division students have performed in 'The Pied Piper' and 'The Sorcerer's Apprentice'. Last year, upper division students performed the ballet 'Paquita'. The recital is held on 'the big stage' each year at the Charlottesville Performing Arts Center.

In addition to the recital, special performances are sometimes held at the Balletschool Studio Theatre. These performances are put on by a small group of upper division students. Our past performances include the ballets 'Les Patiners' and more recently 'Les Sylphides'.
